Abstract
The following is the second quarter, mid-quarter report for the Polymer Membrane Senior Capstone Design Project. The problem addressed by the Senior Capstone Design Group is to develop a facility to coat a stent (an intravascular medical device) with a polymeric membrane. The report discusses the relevant medical history and previous attempts at solving this problem. The report presents the project plan developed by this Senior Capstone Design Group as a guide toward the problem solution. The preliminary testing and research as well as the engineering specifications for the proposed coating facility are presented. More importantly, the design concepts generated and the final design chosen by the design group are described within this report. The methods that will be used to evaluate the design solution are also discussed.
