Abstract

During tests at the Cape Cod Canal, the structure that housed a single helical turbine was found to be inefficient. This paper discusses problems encountered during previous tests, conceptual designs to eliminate these problems, and an analysis of a design for a final prototype structure. This paper further discusses the manufacturing of a prototype support structure. This paper concludes with a detailed description and manufacturing process of the prototype which will be tested by June 1997.
