This study presents the reader with information on Juvenile Delinquency Prevention Programs. Programs are evaluated based on educational opportunities offered, community involvement and effectiveness. Programs discussed in the study presented are Juvenile Curfews, Scared Straight, GEAR-UP, the Boston 2:00 to 6:00 After-School Initiative, and Juvenile Boot Camps, as well as the Department of Youth Services. Many of these programs have already been implemented in Boston, while others are implemented in New York, and New Jersey. At the end of the study, suggestions on programs and how to make them effective in Boston are presented.
