The University Honors Program seeks to attract, retain, and challenge a diverse group of bright and talented undergraduates by supporting excellence, achievement, creative and scholarly learning, and student engagement on a campus and community level. The University Honors Program began in 1986 and includes around 10% of the undergraduate population. The program offers outstanding students academic, career service and extracurricular opportunities to enhance their university experience. Honors students complete the requirements of their major and college and also participate in honors courses as part of their curriculum. In addition, many honors students complete a two-course junior/senior honors project as the capstone experience of their undergraduate career.
