The Disability Resource Center has been a part of the Northeastern University campus since 1978.Its purpose is to ensure that those students with disabilities have equal access to the academic experience at Northeastern University. The guiding principles of the DRC are informed by federal law regarding disability and privacy, by the University's policies on equal opportunity, non-discrimination, and the Student Code of Conduct, and also by the rights and the individual needs of the people who it serves. The DRC provides students with appropriate services and can advocate as needed within the wider University community, while promoting independence and self-advocacy.
